Greetings once again from the chemo room!

Just here today to get Herceptin, the nice one drug that has no side effects. I have been feeling great these past two weeks between the chemo week. Only side effects that are constant are a runny nose and watery eyes, but totally can live with those. Today I’m sitting across from my very first chemo chair. It feels like the popular area of the chemo room, lots of patients. There’s a lady who is across the way from me who sadly doesn’t have a port and I saw her nurse have to give her an IV. Anyone who has to go through this process please get a port. It was a scary thing at first put once its in I forget I have it and man it makes getting infusion so easy and painless with my numbing cream. Now Ive gone from thinking a port as a bit robotic to knowing the magic that is my port.

Had another lovely chemo nurse today, Vanessa. I like her cause she over explains things to me. and got excited for me when I told her my half way mark is next week. Brian came with me (thanks Brian!) who I showed the wonders that is the Settlers of Catan. That’s how we passed the time in the chemo room, over some cheese and crackers thanks to a gal, who’s name I forget, brings me food every time I’m there. I shouldn’t forget the name of the girl who brings me food!

I asked for some lab work to check my white blood cell count today and they are back to normal! Such great news, looking forward to resuming all regular activities (still avoiding sick folks). Another week of feeling good till my cocktail next Wednesday. Then my Mom will be here again for two weeks the day after. Looking forward to having her here and her seeing me in not as rough shape post chemo like first round.
