A pile of hippo printed cards welcomed me to my desk this morning. It was words celebrating my good news and half way mark from my coworkers. I read some and saving the rest for chemo tomorrow. I needed sweet notes today.

Few quotes that I’ve found comfort in these past few days, first from Anne Lamott, who’s thin book on prayer I am still reading. This quote is from a different book of hers but its a good reminder in the mist of these days.

The other is from the song “Go” by Sandra McCracken. Sandra is probably my favorite song writer… I walked down the isle to one her songs, this blog is named after one of her songs. She puts into words how I feel a lot of the time. “Go” has been a song I’ve listened to a lot during chemo, this part hit me right were I needed it this week.

“Hope is not about proving anything. It’s about choosing to believe this one thing, that love is bigger than any grim, bleak shit anyone can throw at us.”

― Anne Lamontt

“Sure are the footsteps that you take in sorrow and hope beauty is coming. Fire cannot burn the same place twice.”

— Sandra McCracken

Love both of those quotes, and needed them tonight, too.
